Why get your license in Germany

German driver training is among the most thorough in Europe — the license is respected everywhere you drive.
A German license is valid across the entire EU and easy to convert almost anywhere in the world.
The official theory exam is available in English and several other languages — fluent German is not required to pass it.

New license vs. exchange in Germany

Getting a new license

If you have never held a license, you take the full German route: registration with a Fahrschule, theory lessons, the mandatory Sonderfahrten on motorway, at night and on country roads, then the theory and practical exams. We choose the school, book everything and keep the timeline tight.

Exchanging a foreign license

If you already hold a license, an Umschreibung may be enough. EU and EEA licenses convert directly; many others convert with a practical test, and some with no test at all. The six-month rule after registering your address matters — we check your deadline before anything else.
