Why get your license in Poland
- Poland is one of the fastest and most affordable routes to an EU license — often six to eight weeks in total.
- Driving schools in Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław and Gdańsk regularly teach in Russian, Ukrainian and English.
- The WORD theory exam is officially available in English and other languages.
- A Polish prawo jazdy is valid across the entire EU.
- Course and exam fees are significantly lower than in Western Europe.
How it works in Poland
Your PKK number
We arrange your Profil Kandydata na Kierowcę at the local starostwo — the number every candidate needs before training can begin.
Medical exam and school
You pass a short medical examination with an authorised doctor, and we enrol you in a partner school matched to your language.
WORD exams
Theory at a WORD centre, available in several languages, then the practical exam in the centre's car. We book the dates and prepare you for the format.
Your prawo jazdy
The starostwo issues the license after the practical exam. We monitor the status and tell you when it is ready to collect.
Documents you'll typically need
- Passport or ID card
- Proof of residence in Poland — at least 185 days, or proof of study
- Medical certificate from an authorised doctor
- One digital photo meeting Polish requirements
- PESEL number where applicable
- Your current license with a sworn translation for an exchange
The exact list depends on your city and your situation — we'll put together your personal checklist for free.
New license vs. exchange in Poland
Getting a new license
The Polish route is compact: PKK number, medical check, a course at a partner school, then theory and practical exams at WORD. Many of our clients finish in under two months, and lessons can be taken in Russian, Ukrainian or English.
Exchanging a foreign license
EU licenses do not need to be exchanged, though they can be registered. Non-EU licenses are exchanged at the starostwo, sometimes with a theory exam depending on the issuing country. We check the requirement for your country and prepare the full submission.
